- Supabase — The Supabase README says it builds the features of Firebase from open source tools, so it can replace Firebase as the backend for an app, with Postgres instead of a document database.
- PocketBase — PocketBase can be used in place of a hosted backend service such as Firebase for a project's database, user accounts, realtime updates and API, run on your own server.
- Appwrite — Appwrite offers the same kind of backend services as Firebase (auth, database, storage, functions, messaging), and its site has a comparison page against Firebase, so it can replace Firebase as an app backend.
