We have not been able to confirm enough from official sources to give a verdict. “Not confirmed” means the official pages we read did not say, so we do not guess.

Best for

People who want free diagramming where they pick the storage location, including offline on the desktop.

Why choose it over Lucidchart

The source code is Apache 2.0 licensed and the project says diagrams are yours, with no copyright claim on what you create. You choose where files are stored and can use the online editor, the desktop app or a self-hosted copy. The homepage states there is no Enterprise tier for SSO.

Where it falls short

Files live in the storage you connect (device or a cloud drive), not in a project workspace run by the tool. The README describes the GitHub Pages option as the editor without integrations. Icon sets and stencil libraries have separate terms for Atlassian products. No paid support or SLA is described.

Open-source alternative to

  • Lucidchart — diagrams.net draws flowcharts and technical diagrams in the browser or on the desktop, so it can replace Lucidchart for diagramming. This is a replacement use, not an official claim by the project.
