You can activate your card both via the Online Banking site as well as the U.S. Bank app. But first, you need to register with U.S Bank Online Banking. The enrolment can only be done through the website of the U.S. Bank Online Banking portal. After enrolment, you can activate either through a website or app, as your convenience demands. For both activation and enrolment, you need to have the credit card information and registered mobile number handy.

New Users Activate U.S. Bank Credit Card and Online Banking, go through the following steps:

Open your browser and visit www.usbank.com/credit-cards/activate-credit-card
Under Not yet enrolled in Online Banking, click on Enroll and activate the tab.
Select Personal under the type of account.
Choose I have a different account>Credit Card or line of credit.
Enter the following information:

Credit Card Account Number.
Code on the back of the Card/PIN.
Expiration Date(mm-yy)
Last four digits of the account holder’s Social Security Number.
ZIP Code.

Click on Continue.
Set up Personal ID and Password as per the instruction.
Activate the Card by selecting the appropriate option.
Complete the account activation

ACTIVATE U.S. BANK CARD- Existing Online Account Users :

Existing Online Account holders can log in and initiate the activation by:

Open your browser and visit www.usbank.com/credit-cards/activate-credit-card
Tap on Login and Activate.

Select Online Banking from the dropdown list.
Enter the Personal ID.
Type in the Password.
Click on the Login

Retrieve Forgotten Credentials :

Activated your card but forgotten your account credentials. Do not worry, mentioned here are two different instances of recovering Personal ID/Password in a secured manner:

Reset Personal ID :

Open your browser and visit onlinebanking.usbank.com
Tap on the login option at the top right corner.
Click on the Forgot ID
Under the type of account, please select Personal.
Select your Mode of Contact between Phone/Email. If you have changed your contact within the last 3 days, please dial 202.0043 for assistance.
Those select Phone, enter Registered Phone Number, and last four digits of Social Security Number.
Those select Email, enter Registered Email Address, and last four digits of Social Security Number.
Click on Continue to reset Personal ID by carefully following the instructions.

Reset Password :

Open your browser and visit onlinebanking.usbank.com
Tap on login option at the top right corner.
Click on Forgot Password
Enter the Personal ID of the account.
Type in the last four digits of your Social Security Number.
If you do not have SSN, dial 202.0043 for assistance.
Click on Continue.
Go through the prompts to reset the password.

ACTIVATE U.S. BANK CARD via Phone Call :

To activate via call, dial 800-285-8585. You can also dial the Card Activation Number printed on the back of your brand new credit card to activate telephonically. Expedite the activation process by entering information such as card numbers and personal information.

ACTIVATE U.S. BANK CARD via U.S. Bank Mobile App :

U.S. Bank Mobile app users must first enroll in Online Banking. They must register the card to their app afterward to activate the credit card with the app:
