Note that, as certain UPMC doctors’ offices do not have the technology to access the entire MyUPMC system, all patients or users cannot access some features and services of My UPMC currently.
How to Register for My UPMC Online Account Access
My UPMC patient portal has been created to pave the way for a better online experience for UPMC patients. If you are a patient at 18 years of age or older or the parent or legal guardian of a minor patient, you can register for MyUPMC and create an online account to access the available services.
To initiate My UPMC Online Patient Health Portal Registration, have access to the internet and then you may take the following steps.
- Visit My UPMC official website at myupmc.upmc.com
- Click on the blue “Create Account” button at the top right corner of the home page to enter the My UPMC Terms and Conditions page.
- Type your First Name, Middle Name (Optional), Last Name, Date of Birth (mm/dd/yyyy), Sex (Male/Female), Last 4 digits of Social Security Number in their respective fields.
- Enter your contact details i.e. Mobile Phone Number (Optional), Home Phone Number (Optional) and Email Address
- Input the Access Code if you have one as it is not required to create a MyUPMC account.
- Click the “Complete Form to Continue” button when you are done.
You can also click the “Back” button if needed to go to the previous page. Create the required login credentials following the on-screen requirements to set up your My UPMC Account.
How to Log In My UPMC Online Account
Once complete the registration successfully, you can log in to your My UPMC Account and access your health information and use all the services and features in it from your computer or smartphone. To log in My UPMC patient portal account, you can
- Go to MyUPMC Online Patient Health Portal myupmc.upmc.com
- Click the “Log In” link at the top right of the page
- Enter the username and password established during your My UPMC account creation in their respective fields.
- Click the “Log In” button to enter the system.
UPMC takes extensive precautions to protect your identity and information. And for that, you may answer some personal questions if you are login for the first time to My UPMC or on a new device to ensure that you, and not someone else, are accessing the service.
And also you will be automatically logged out if you will be inactive for 15 minutes after entering the My UPMC Account though the recommendation is to log out every time you need to leave your computer. These security features will help to ensure that your information is secure and your device is unattended.
How to Recover My UPMC Account Login Info Online
If you do not remember your MyUPMC Account username or password you can self serve using the feature provided on the login page and recover them. To begin the retrieval and get back your access to My UPMC Online Patient Health Portal system, click the “Forgot username?” or “Forgot password?” link as per your requirement in the login page and submit the following details.

- First Name
- Middle name
- Last Name
- Date of Birth
- And Last 4 digits of SSN
To Reset Password
- MyUPMC Username
- Date of Birth
- And Last 4 digits of SSN
Then click the “Complete Form to Continue” button and take the steps as you will be instructed. Upon completion, you will be sent your username or password reset link to the email address on your My UPMC Patient Portal file.
